Are you looking to improve your event riding and would you jump at the chance to compete affiliated? Would you like to train with leading event coaches? Then look no further!
Once again, Scotts of Thrapston, leading manufacturer of timber stables, is offering two riders the chance to win a place on their exclusive rider development programme in partnership with Carlton Horse Trials.
Following the success of its first programme last year, Scotts is proud to be sponsoring the Carlton event for the second year running.
Julia Berrie, Marketing Manager at Scotts said: “We are committed to the development of the sport of Eventing and are delighted to offer event riders at grass roots level, the training to help them enjoy the sport safely and improve their standard and skill. Last year’s winners thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we look forward to receiving plenty of entries this year.”
The programme opens doors to riders who are keen to better themselves and their horses, with an aim to compete in an affiliated competition at Carlton Horse Trials in July this year. The two winning entrants will attend half-price clinics run by British Eventing Coaching Development team members, Nick Turner and Caroline Moore, at Carlton Cross Country Course in Bedfordshire.
The clinics are offered at half-price to the two winners, who will also receive ‘Scotts Squad’ branded clothing, free entry to the cross country course walk taken by Nick Turner at Badminton Horse Trials on Saturday 23rd April and free entry to Carlton horse trials in July 2011. During the training scheme, the two winning riders will keep an informal weekly diary to be published online so their hard work and success can be followed!
Riders of any age can apply, and last year’s winners were Janet Hammond (43) and teen Henry Beasley (16). Janet said; “I can’t put into words how much the opportunity meant to me. My horse and I progressed so much further than I could ever have hoped for. I met some lovely people and now I’m totally addicted to the sport of Eventing.”
If you fancy the chance to take part in this exclusive training programme, simply visit www.scottsofthrapston.co.uk/carlton to apply. Closing date for applications is Monday 28th February 2011. All applications will be reviewed by the coaching staff at Carlton. Two lucky riders will be chosen to form the Scotts Squad and can choose which clinics to attend to suit their schedule.
This year Scotts is also proud to present the ‘Scotts Trophy’ which will be open to all riders competing in BE100 classes at both Carlton Horse Trials (29th-31st July) and their other sponsored event Brigstock Horse Trials (20th-22nd May). The winner will receive tickets to Burghley Horse Trials where they will be presented with the trophy.
