What a fun couple of weeks.

The last two weeks have been fantastic, I have been out competing again and focusing on riding technically around the show jumping ring.

I have been going through the dressage test for the Riding Club Horse Trials in two weeks.

Last Saturday I went to the Show Jumping qualifier representing the Swindon and District Riding Club, it was a bit of a challenge as I was jumping bigger than usual, but I rose to the challenge and we competed as an individual. There were three rounds, I went clear in the first round with a bit of a sticky start. But unfortunately in the second round I had a pole down but generally felt good about it because it was a big course. It was a disgusting day and there were loads of problems, horses slipping all over the place and unfortunately there was a fall but not too nasty.  I stand by my studs and am going to start testing different studs for different conditions to test which work best on different surfaces for different weather.

I also had a great day out to Rabson Manor near us which is a Livery yard set up with a fantastic Cross Country course and many different arenas.

I went with my family and a friend and I spent the time practising technique and striding of jumping a fence, I did a variety of fences including grids and spreads, I also did some course jumping in a grass arena which was great practise.

I will be continuing to practice for the Riding Club Horse Trials like the one Janet competed at recently.
