The last week has been a blast

The last week has been a blast, after good news on Sunday I will now also be competing as an individual for the riding club show jumping competition.

I have been working hard with my flat work this week, lots of no-stirrups riding and have been seeing great improvements with dressage.

On Saturday I went to Hartpury where I show jumped. This was a good schooling opportunity to get my pony confident with indoors jumping, with lots going on in the Olympic size arena, where there were people all around watching which was good to get him used to, (the affiliated environment) as he is a young pony.

We are lucky to know a good friend of ours, Peter Morris who showed me around the media centre at Badminton shut off to the public, I saw him interviewing the top riders which was amazing and saw all of the news reporters typing their stories.

I went on Sunday with the family where we met the delightful team in probably the most posh trade stand at Badminton showing off their superior timber stables and grand clock tower.

We were greeted by James Scott and two other members of the team who explained a bit more about the company and what the Squad means for them.

Having had an exciting day watching the boss (Paul Tapner) in pole position after cross- country, I then went back for the final where I watched Paul hold 1st position and move up on his other ride to 10th.

All credit to him, he works so hard, and especially George his wife who found the moment very emotional, but who wouldn’t.

We went back to see the Boss of Scotts who replaced James at the stand on Monday.

I am so happy I have been chosen to ride for such enthusiastic and positive people who I believe will back me up with confidence and help to take me all the way from a local rider to a well developed International Eventer!
